We appreciate your interest in our Pioneer Buildings and would like to help you in making wise and economical decisions in designing your new building. Giving you a building that fits your needs is our experienced staffs main goal.
At Pioneer Buildings we pride ourselves in having the highest quality and strongest buildings in the industry. These structures are designed for an 80-120MPH wind load depending on the geographic location of the building. Post frame buildings are also very exceptional in withstanding earthquakes and hurricanes. The following is a breakdown of the materials we use:
Footings for our buildings are a minimum of 6" thick and 16" in diameter, 300OPSI concrete mix depending on the size of the building and our engineer's design. Standard depth for footings is minimum 36" from finished floor line. If local government require footing inspections before construction can commence, we take care of scheduling and arranging the inspection.
Posts are set minimum 36" below the finished floor line to the top of the roof trusses in one solid, unspliced column (including gable posts) 8' on center or less, depending on door locations. 4x6 posts are used in buildings up to 14' in height and 40' in width with windloads not exceeding 90mph, unless otherwise specified in accordance with local building codes. 3-ply 2x6 glulam posts are set in buildings 16' and higher. We have either laminated or solid sawn posts available. All material used to construct your building are stored inside in a climate controlled warehouse to prevent warping and weather damage.
- Ground contact wood posts and other lumber that comes in contact with the ground is pressure treated and has a 60 year warranty against decay. Posts are treated to a MCA .24 content, skirtboards are treated to MCA .16 content.
- Side and Roof purlins are 2x4's 24" on center #1 and #2 spruce. 2x4' receive pressure treatment to MCA .06. This minimizes splitting at the connections with siding fasteners.
-
Structural wood (Headers, Carriers) are # 1 Southern Yellow Pine, which is the strongest wood available in the construction industry. -
Roof Trusses are 2' and 4' on center. They are pre-engineered with loading that exceeds state building code to give you the strongest roof load in the industry. -
Roofing & Siding is premium Limited Lifetime Warranty Frontier Panel, heat roll-formed by Everlast Inc. with your choice of colors. Buildings generally have a combination of different colors. The roof and sides are fastened with screws. (1 per sq. ft.) The screws are weather tight with rubber and steel washers. Roofing and siding is fully trimmed at all exposed edges and connections. Everlast Inc. is recognized as the leader in the roll-forming industry.
